Land Rover has finally launched its new 2020 Discovery Sports in India at the starting price of INRs 57.06 lakhs. It will be competing with the BMW X3, Mercedes Benz GLC, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60.
The 2020 Discovery Sports will be available in 2 variants for Indian market : S and R-Dynamic SE . It has been designed on the Premium Transverse Architecture (PRA) which also underpins the Range Rover Evoque besides it gets a minor cosmetic changes and interior updates along with a new platform. It has now got a improved NVH levels, new architecture support Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and electric powertrains.
It is powered by a updated BS-6, 2.0 litre petrol and diesel Ingenium engines producing peak power of 250 bhp with peak torque 365 NM and 180 bhp with 430 NM respectively mated with a 9 speed automatic gearbox. It also offers the best in class 600 mm water wading depth, AWD systems and Land Rover’s Terrain response as a standard.
New Discovery Sports has been offered with a new headlamps, newly designed grille, bumpers and different LED signature tail lamps. With the interior it gets a same design layout with a new 10 inch touch pro infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. In addition it now includes Apple car play and Android Auto support, 4G Wifi hotspot, Wireless charging cables, USB ports, massaging front seat, activity key, liftgate, 11 Meredian sound system , cruise control and a clear sight camera. Along it has roll stability control, hill launch assist, hill descent control and dynamic stability control.
With the safety features, Discovery Sports has also scored a 5 star ratings in Euro NCAP crash test. With the successful launch in India, will this INRs 57.06 lakhs rated car launch in Nepal?
