Let’s start with the platform the Taigun will be based on. The Taigun is the first vehicle to be built on the MQB A0 IN platform. The renowned MQB platform is considered to be one of the most versatile platforms across the world. The MQB A0 IN platform is also shared by the Skoda Kushaq. The two SUVs will also feature a number of similar elements such as the doors, roof, and glass house. That said, the German carmaker has made sure to deliver the Taigun with its own identity and distinctive styling.

The Taigun does showcase several different design features from the Kushaq, though–such as the single-piece headlights, a two-slat chrome grille, a chrome insert on the lower part of the bumper, and an LED tail lamp cluster that runs across the width of the rear.

The interior features a few dissimilar components as well. In the Taigun, the AC vents are designed differently, and the infotainment screen has been subtly incorporated into the dashboard, rather than being a free-standing unit like in the Kushaq.

Design

The Taigun’s design overall is urbanish, with an upright look on the front and a boxy aesthetic delivering a powerful, charismatic, bold, and sporty stance to the model. The German-engineered SUV’s design elements comprise LED headlights and DRLs, the signature grille with chrome strips and brand logo proudly placed centrally, halogen fog lamps, a pronounced bumper with a faux skid plate fitted on its lower half, etc. The compact SUV stands on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and the roof rails make the SUV seem taller. Design elements such as bold shoulder creases and the chrome garnish with a rear skid plate further enhance the vehicle’s sporty character. The rear of the SUV boasts a C-shaped continuous LED tail lamp—a signature design element for Taigun.
