2023 Nissan Magnite launched in India

Nissan has launched the 2023 Magnite in the Indian market. The new Magnite comes with upgraded safety features, few design tweaks, but the powertrain remains the same. The compact SUV is offered in five variants: the XE, the XL, the XV Executive, the XV, and the XV Premium–at a starting price of INR 6 lakh.

Design and features

The new Magnite’s design remains the same as its predecessor; however, now the XV variants are offered without any LED fog lamps, which is only available in the top-spec variants.

The 2023 Magnite now comes equipped with active safety features such as Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Before this update, only the turbo-petrol variants would get these features.

The other notable features are its 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, LED headlamps, 50+ connected car features, and 16-inch alloy wheels, among others.

Powertrain

The new Magnite still offers two petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol. The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine generates a power of 70 hp and a torque of 96 Nm. Meanwhile, the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces a power of 98 hp and a torque of 160 Nm. For transmission, both engines can be mated to either a five-speed manual transmission as standard or a CVT.
