Bajaj Dominar 400 BS6 price decreased by Rs 60,000, available at Rs 5.99 Lakh in Nepal
In the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, the government has announced a tax cut specifically for motorcycles in the 200-400 cc range. As a result, the excise duty on motorcycles within the 250–400 cc segment has been reduced from 90% to 70%. Similarly, motorcycles assembled in Nepal will now have an excise duty of 30%. Additionally, the road construction fee has been reduced from Rs 50,000 to Rs 20,000. These changes aim to make motorcycles in this range more affordable and encourage their production and use. Consequently, the price of the Dominar 400 has been reduced from its previous amount of Rs 6,59,900 to a more accessible price of Rs 5,99,900, effective from 1st June 2023.
Design and features
The Dominar 400 BS6 gets an aggressive and muscular design that comes with notable design elements such as LED headlamp and taillamp, windscreen, split-set-up seats, and twin barrel exhaust, among others. Additionally, the company offers accessories packs such as tall visor, hand guard, engine bash plate, USB charging port, leg guard, carrier with back stopper, navigation stay, and saddle stay.
The bike comes equipped with a split reverse LCD display that displays information such as the bike speed, gear position, odometer, time, fuel gauge, and others. Other notable features are its auto headlamp, 13-litre fuel tank, dual-channel ABS, assist and slipper clutch, disc brakes, and LED units, among others.
Powertrain
The Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3 cc, single cylinder, four-stroke, four-valve, liquid-cooled, triple spark, FI, DOHC engine. The engine generates a peak power of 39.45 hp at 8800 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm at 6500 rpm. For transmission, the engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
