Blueshark launches its smart electric scooter:the R1
Blueshark has launched its smart electric scooter–the R1–at the NADA EX Expo 2022. The e-scooter is powered by a dual 1.44 kWh lithium-phosphate battery and provides a maximum range of 160 km. The R1 is one of the advanced smart electric scooters that comes at an introductory price of Rs 4.65 lakh.
Design and features
The R1 gets a conventional electric scooters’ design. The front fascia features LED projector headlights with the brand’s logo-shaped DRLs. And the rear gets LED taillights and split grab rails. The other notable design’s elements are its unibody seat, small windscreen, and 10-inch display system, among others. Furthermore, the scooter has been offered in three colour options:Spindrift White, Deepsea Black, Blueshark Blue.

The R1’s dash comes equipped with a 10-inch full colour display–integrated with ArkRide OS–that supports GPS,4G navigation, music, video playing, driving recorder, and OTA updates. Moreover, the e-scooter also gets 72 sensors that collect information such as speed, acceleration, temperature, environmental lighting, seat pressure, among others
The other notable features are its Advanced Driver-Assistance System (dual cameras+dual super-sonic sensors), fingerprint ignition, IPX5 Waterproof display, riding modes (three normal driving modes, Helping Boost, and Turbo Racing), disc brakes with Combined Braking System (CBS), and passive keyless entry, among others.
Powertrain
The R1 scooters are powered by a dual 1.44 kWh lithium-phosphate battery that generates a peak power of 5 kW and provides a maximum range of 160 km. For the conditioning and protection of battery, the scooter comes with a Battery Management System; the Battery Management System gets features like pre-discharging, strong/weak electricity isolation, overcurrent protection, and voltage balance, among others. And the R1 gets full-charged in 3.5 hours via a direct charger. Furthermore, the scooter can reach up to 80 kmph and accelerate from 0-50 kmph in 4.9 seconds.
