Volkswagen India has launched the BS-6 Polo, the price ranges has also been revealed. The German car maker has updated the entire variant of Polo. The prices starts from INRs 5.83 lakhs – INRs 9.60 lakhs.
The new BS-6 compliant Polo is priced lesser than the previous model. These BS-6 Polo has been offered with two petrol engine options :
– 1.0 litre MPI
– 1.0 litre TSI
The MPI engine has capability to develop power of 76 PS and 95 NM of torque where as the TSI engine can produce power of 110 PS and 175 NM of torque. While the Polo MPI come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the TSI motor, on the other hand, is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Polo MPI has a claimed figure of 17.75 kmpl while TSI motor returns 18.24 kmpl. The reduction is price is due to the fact that automatic variants of Polo has now been offered with 6 speed torque converter than the advanced 7 speed DSG.
Along with BS-6 updates Volkswagen has removed the 1.5 litre TDI diesel and 1.2 litre TSI petrol engines from the list, so it will be discontinued from the lineup. Besides that it also has discontinued the quick shifting DSG technology from the Polo’s lineup. With the launch of BS-6 Polo in reduced price we can hope for the launch of these BS-6 models in Nepal as well stay tuned to hear more.
