Ford Focus and Ford Focus ST to launch in India, expected to launch in Nepal by 2021
Not long ago, Ford India reported that the Ranger Raptor performance-oriented pick-up is expected to launch during the second half of 2021. As per the recent update, Ford is also considering the Ford Focus hatchback and Focus ST hot-hatch launch alongside the Ranger Raptor for the Indian market.
The two models will also be brought under the 2,500 units homologation exception rule similar to the Ranger Raptor and expected to be launch sometime in 2021. The American carmaker plans to produce a limited number of units of the Focus ST hot-hatch which will hype up the price compared to the regular Focus.
The Focus hatchback is equipped with an advanced range of EcoBoost petrol EcoBlue diesel engines meeting the latest stringent Euro 6 emission standards worldwide. Meanwhile in India, the model is likely to be offered with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine that produces 125 PS of max power and a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine that produces 160 PS of max power. With the measurements of 4,361mm long and a wheelbase of 2,649mm, the Ford Focus is proved to be longer than the compact-SUV that is currently on sale in India and Nepal.
Similarly, the hot hatch version of the Focus known as the Focus ST will be power-packed with a 2.3-liter Ecoboost petrol engine that churns out 280 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 420 Nm same engine as the Mustang Ecoboost. Globally, the engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed automatic gearbox; however, in India and Nepal, it might come with the automatic transmission only.
There are no recent updates about these models to launch in the Nepalese market. Nevertheless, expectations are set high from Go Automobiles Pvt Ltd, the sole authorized distributor of Ford in Nepal to make these beauties available till the end of 2021 for the buyer in Nepal.
