Ford’s Mustang sells 1,13,066 units & becomes the best selling sports coupe for 4 consecutive year

American Automaker Ford celebrates 55th Anniversary for Mustang along with that it has become the world’s best-selling sports coupe for 4th consecutive year selling 1,13,066 cars in 2018 as per to the IHS Markit data. The data regarding the global sales of Ford Mustang has been furnished by IHS Markit that provides critical information, analytics and solutions for the major industries and markets. According to data from IHS Markit,” Mustang reigns as the best-selling sports coupe in the world for 2018, selling 113,066 cars.”

“We broke the mold when Ford launched the Mustang 55 years ago,” said Jim Farley, Ford president, global markets.

“Nothing says freedom, the wind in your hair and the joy of driving like Mustang; it’s an icon. The roar of its V8 on a spring day, there’s nothing better. No wonder it’s the most popular sports coupe in the world,” Farley added.

Based on worldwide Ford sales data, it was available for purchase in 146 markets in 2018 and more than 500,000 sixth-generation units were sold since 2015, with global share 15.4 percent of the segment and Mustang Bullitt exceeded its global sales forecasts by 25 percent.
