V. G. Impex Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of the Vishal Group and the authorized distributor for Great Wall Motors (GWM) vehicles in Nepal, has launched the Haval Jolion, and revealed its official price in Nepal. The Chinese auto giant GWM offers the Jolion with much-improved features regarding style, performance, and comfort.
Haval Jolion overview
The entry-level SUV Joilion, which replaces the Haval H2 in the company’s product lineup, is considered to be a small-size SUV but looks almost like a mid-size SUV. Haval says the Joilion is regarded as China’s luxury brand, and features contemporary design cues and an abundance of high-tech features. The SUV makes a strong first impression via the massive and shiny grille on the front (Haval branding features centrally), slimline LED headlamps with DRLs, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear has a large Havel lettering on the manually operated tailgate, distinct C-shaped LED tail lamps, and an overall upright look that makes the car look even bigger. The colour options for the car are Blue, Black, Grey, Hamilton White, and Mars Red.
The interior is very spacious, with plenty of storage options. The design on the dash is kept to a minimal, with just a few knobs for the features; most of the features are controlled through the 10.25-inch (depending upon the variant) infotainment system and 7-inch virtual instrument cluster just below it. The infotainment system, which is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is crisp and responsive. A sleek rotary dial in the central console marks the departure from the traditional gear shifter and allows some additional space just below it, where two USB ports and a 12V socket are mounted. The rear seats have plenty of legroom and headroom, armrest, cupholders, and a flat floor. For the sake of passenger convenience, the car comes with reading lights, two USB ports, and AC vents.
The notable features of the SUV include a wireless charger, three driving modes (light, comfort, and sport), multifunctional leather steering with a paddle shifter, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way adjustable passenger’s seat, dual-zone automatic AC, five noise reduction with NVH, heated front seats, a dashcam power outlet, and an 8.6-inch head-ups display with traffic-sign recognition. The SUV has 337 litres of boot space that extends to 1133 litres when the rear seats are folded 60:40.
The Jolion is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces a power of 110 kW and torque of 220 Nm. In Nepal, there are three trim levels of Jolion to choose from, and buyers also get two transmission options: a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The dimensions of the Jolion measure 4472mm in length, 1814mm in width, and 1619mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2700 mm.
Safety features include eight airbags (dual front, side, and curtain), child lock, ABS + EBD(Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), HHC and HDC (Hill-Hold Control and Hill-Descent Control), Driver Drowsiness Detection, BA (Brake Assist), ESC (Electronic Stability System) and TCS (Traction Control), TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), 360 Degree Panoramic Camera, ACC (Adaptive Cruise), TJA (Traffic Jam Assist), Intelligent Turning Assist, Driving Fatigue Detection, Keyless Entry and Push Button Start, Anti-theft Alarm System, and RMI (Anti-Roll System) + SCM (Second Collision Mechanism).
