Honda launches the all-new City Hybrid at Rs 82 lakh in Nepal

Syakar Trading Company, the sole authorised distributor of Honda cars and bikes in Nepal, has launched the all-new City Hybrid in the Nepalese market. The new City comes with new design, upgraded features, and a hybrid powertrain: i-MMD (intelligent multi-mode drive). The company has offered the sedan in two variants–the V and the ZX–at a starting price of Rs 82 lakh.

Design

The 2023 City comes in a stylish and sporty design. The sedan comes with Honda’s solid wing face that features a diamond chequered grille with e:HEV signature blue-H-mark logo, LED headlamps, and sporty garnish fog lamps. Other notable exterior design elements are its carbon-wrapped bumpers, z-shaped 3D wrap LED tail lamps, and 6-inch dual-tone diamond-cut multi-spoke alloy wheels. Moreover, the car is offered in six different colours: blue, red, white, brown, grey, silver.

Inside, the sedan gets a black-and-ivory-themed interior with leather-upholstered seats. The dashboard features a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, a seven-inch fully-digital instrument console, and an eight-inch infotainment system that is now compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moreover, the City e:HEV model also features a new carbon fibre pattern instrument panel, piano black finish on all AC Vents, and piano black garnish on the steering wheel.

Powertrain

The City e:HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid engine–which is paired with two self-charging electric motors–that generates a combined power of 122 hp and a peak torque of 253 Nm. The sedan comes with a fuel tank capacity of 40-litres and it provides a mileage of  27.13 kmpl. The sedan has also been offered in three riding modes: EV Drive: motor uses battery for a silent and zero emission drive, Hybrid Drive: both traction and generator motor generates combined power, and Engine Drive: engine works highly fuel-efficient, along with providing enough power.

Features

The new City comes with the Honda Sensing Safety System that includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), adaptive cruise control with low speed follow (only in City e:HEV), road departure mitigation system, Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), lead car departure notification system (new), and auto high-beam. Moreover, the sedan also gets 37 Honda Connect features that comprise live car location, geo-fence alert, unauthorised access alert, find my car, share car location, and tire deflation alert, among others. Other notable features include TPMS, six airbags, hill start assist, an immobiliser with anti-theft alarm, and ambient lighting, among others.
