Honda launches BS6 compliant SP 125 for the Indian market

Honda has launched its new SP 125, 2nd BSVI complaint 2 wheeler. CB Shine SP has always been a successor for Honda so they have dropped the Shine Moniker as well.

The new Honda SP 125 comes in 2 variant drum and disc. It has equipped a new fuel powerplant in SP 125 making it more unique. SP 125 is the first motorcycle to the lineup for BS6 compliant motor with 4 stroke which produces 108 PS of power @ 7500 rpm and torque of 10.3 Nm @ 6000 rpm.

It includes a 5-speed transmission unit which is 16% more efficient than CB Shine SP’s powerpoint . It has continued with a sporty-looking body panel with an aggressive tank shroud and LED headlamps to give it a modern look.

Further with the changes, it has included a fully digital instrument cluster that comes with useful information like real-time efficiency range, average fuel efficiency service reminder, gear position indicator among other.

SP125 is also equipped with the first segment ACG starter similar to Activa 125 scooter. SP 125 uses low rolling resistance tires and it includes an engine kill switch.

It uses a diamond type frame, telescopic front fork, twin rear shock absorber. It has new 130 mm drum brakes at front and rear with addition it offers 240 mm disc paired along with 130 mm drum rear providing standard CBS.

It will be available in different colours: Imperial Red, Striking Green, Siren Blue, and Axis Grey with 6 years warranty in both SP 125 and Activa 125. Also, 8 onboard sensors to insure usage of optimum fuel and air mixture. As it hits the market it will be competing with Bajaj Discover, Hero Glamour FI. The price is expected to be increased from the former price of it. We expect that this SP 125 will be launch in Nepal real sooner.
