Honda launches the new Activa H-Smart in India
Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) has launched a new variant in the Activa lineup–the H-Smart. The Activa H-Smart comes with premium features that include a new smart key that offers features such as Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Start, and Smart Safe. The new scooter comes at an introductory price of INR 80,537.
Commenting on the occasion, Atsushi Ogata, MD, President, & CEO, HMSI said: “Activa had re-activated the scooter market and has remained one of the top selling two-wheelers for more than a decade now. It has undergone multiple avatars for meeting the ever-changing expectations of our customers, and today we unveil the new OBD2 compliant Activa 2023 with a host of segment-first features offering more value to the customers.”
Design and features
The new H-Smart comes with the same design as the other Activa models, and it has been offered in six different colours: Decent Blue Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue, Black, Pearl Precious White, Rebel Red Metallic, and Mat Axis Grey Metallic.
The H-Smart comes equipped with a new Smart Key that offers keyless operations and new features such as Smart Safe—turns off the scooter when the key goes beyond a 2-metre range; Smart Find—locates scooters by blinking all four turn indicators twice when the key is pressed within a range of 10 metres; Smart Unlock—unlocks the fuel lid, seat, and handlebars; and Smart Start—turns on the scooter without the use of a physical key. Other notable features are its LED units, a 5.3-litre fuel tank, and 12-inch alloy wheels.
Engine
The H-Smart gets the same engine specifications as its predecessors. The scooter is powered by a 109cc, four-stroke, SI engine that is capable of generating a peak power of 8 hp at 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 8.90 Nm at 5500 rpm. Furthermore, the scooter comes with new tyre compound technology that enhances its fuel efficiency.
