Honda unveils its 5th gen sedan “The 2020 Honda City”
Honda unveils the fifth generation of the sedan the ‘2020 Honda City’ in Thailand and the seventh including the early kei car hatchbacks. The new Honda City comprises of a new exterior and interior design and sits lower, longer, and wider than ever before.

Regarding with exterior design it offers sportiness and elegance and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), LED Tail Lights, Chrome Front Grille, Shark Fin Antenna, and newly-designed 15-inch alloy wheels, while the interior includes a cabin which undoubtly includes more space and luxurious rating is beyond its class. Further to that the interior is enhanced by a black interior or leather seats with a two-tone ivory/black interior (SV variant only), a Piano Black console, and chrome inside door handles.

However the Thai-spec model is powered by a 122 PS power with a 1.0-litre turbocharged VTEC petrol engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with 7 simulated steps controlled by a paddle shifter along with superior fuel efficiency, and it’s also fully equipped with advanced technologies for comfort and safety.

It is expected to include BS6 complaint engine but for now it is equipped with a Euro 5-compliant engine with a CO2 emission of 99g/km. It can also run on the ethanol-petrol mix of E20. It will retain the 1.5- litre petrol and diesel engines,these motors are likely to influence the 2020 auto market.

The Thai-spec City is available in four trim levels: S, V, SV, and RS. It is comparatively 10mm lower, 53mm wider and 113mm longer than ever before. While the ‘Ignite Red’ colour is reserved for RS-spec models, the colour choices can have in five other options: Platinum White Pearl (RS and SV only), Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, and Taffeta White (S and V only).
Among all its the RS variant of the all-new Honda City will be made available for the first time. This variants will offering a sportier looks, and has the latest generation of Honda CONNECT technology that provides connectivity between a driver and car, and a new exterior color “Ignite Red.”

All variants of the Thai-spec 2020 Honda City are expected to be powered by the same 3-cylinder, 1.0-litre VTEC turbo engine which will produces power of 122 PS and torque of 173 Nm. Honda also states that the new City has 23.8kmpl of fuel consumption. The engine delivers a maximum of 120 BHp at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 173 Newton-meters at 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. The new engine gives in a driving performance superior to the 1.5-liter engine in the previous generation and powerful torque equivalent to a 1.8-liter engine.

Honda City has few premium functions such as a Multi-information Display with illumination, 8-inch Advanced Touch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Siri Voice Control, an automatic Air-conditioning system , and a Multi-function Steering Wheel with HFT, Bluetooth connectivity

The advanced safety technologies equipped on a Honnda City are : a G-CON (G-Force Control) body structure, six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist, and Multi-angle Rearview Camera.
The 2020 City will be on display at the 36th Thailand International Motor Expo 2019 from November 29 to December 10 and will go on sale there starting December 24.
