Huawei Mate 10 launched in Munich
Huawei Electronics has taken the wraps off their latest phablet, the Huawei Mate 10 in an event held in Munich. The phone is the follow up to last years Huawei Mate 9. The Huawei Mate 10 brings some noticeable changes both in terms of hardware and software compared to its predecessor. Here are all the things the phone offers for an estimated price of 700 Euros.
The Huawei Mate 10 packs a massive 5.9 inch Quad HD IPS display with a pixel density of 499 PPI. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass and is edged out by a 2.5D glass. The phone combines both glass and metal to provide a premium looking and feeling device. Under the hood, the Mate 10 packs an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor along with the Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. The processor is backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be further expanded via a micro-sd card but only at the expense of the dual-sim support the phone comes with.
In the camera department, the phone packs dual f/1.6 20MP and 12MP Leica branded rear camera backed by OIS and laser autofocus. The secondary camera now like the current trend provides a 2X lossless optical zoom. The Mate 10 also flaunts a f/2.0 8MP front camera for all your high-res selfies. The phone too comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded into its home button. Other sensors include an accelerometer, compass, proximity sensor and a gyroscope. Software-wise, the phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Huawei’s own custom skin, EMUI 8 overlaid on top of it. And finally powering this device all up is a 4000mAh non-user removable battery. This will be enough to get users a full day worth of battery life without any issues. And if the battery does run out there is the inclusion of Fast Charge (58%in 30 minutes) and USB Type C port for faster charging time.
The Huawei Mate 10 is an impressive phablet which beautifully combines great hardware and feature-packed software. Huawei, with this phone, has given high priority to the cameras and also to the software and its updates. The phone without a doubt is one of the hottest smartphones of the year and will most definitely make its way to Nepal. Nothing is official, but the phone will come and it will come at a price of around 85,000 here in Nepal.
