Hyundai launches the 2023 Grand i10 NIOS at Rs 29.96 lakh

Hyundai Nepal has launched the 2023 iteration of its popular hatchback–the Grand i10 NIOS–at a starting price of Rs 29.96 lakh. The new Grand i10 NIOS comes with new design changes, and upgraded features, whereas, its mechanical specifications remain unchanged. The hatchback is offered in three variants: the Era, the Magna, and the Sportz, of which, the Magna and the Sportz models get either a MT or an AMT.

Design

The new Grand i10 NIOS measures 3815 mm in length, 1680 mm in width, and 1520 mm in height, and it has a wheelbase of 2450 mm, which makes the hatchback 10 mm longer than the outgoing model. The increase in length offers better rear legroom space, making the new hatchback more spacious.

The 2023 Grand i10 Nios gets major design changes on its front and rear sections. Unlike the previous models, the new hatchback features a new black radiator grille that is connected to tri-arrow-shaped LED DRLs on the front. And on the rear sections, the Grand i10 NIOS gets a new LED tail lamps setup in which both sides’ tail lamps are connected by a horizontal LED bar. Other new design changes include projector halogen headlamps and 15-inch diamond-cut steel wheels. 

Inside, the hatchback comes with a dual-tone grey-themed interior and new leathered-upholstered seats with ‘NIOS’ logo embedded on it. The dashboard features a three-spoke steering wheel, an eight-inch infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the previous digital instrument console is replaced by a new 3.5-inch analog instrument console with multi info display.

Powertrain

The new Grand i10 Nios shares the same powertrain as that of the outgoing models. The hatchback comes powered by the same 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine that produces a peak power of 82 hp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 114 Nm at 4000 rpm. For transmission, the engine comes mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or AMT, depending upon the variants. Except for the base model, the Era, all the other variants, the Magna and the Sportz, are offered in both MT and AMT options.

Features

The new Grand i10 Nios will come with new features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Assist Control (HAC), 6 airbags, Highline TPMS, cruise control, eco coating, Type-C fast USB charger, automatic headlamps, and luggage lamp. Furthermore, the new hatchback also comes with other notable features such as ABS with EBD, immobiliser, central locking, rear parking sensors and camera, speed alert system, keyless entry, power steering, rear AC vents, power windows, and height-adjustable driver’s seat, among others.  

Hyundai 2023 Grand i10 Nios price in Nepal

Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd, the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Nepal, has launched the hatchback in three variants: the Era, the Magna, and the Sportz–at a base price of Rs 29.96 lakh and it goes up to Rs 37.56 lakh. The hatchback serves as a rival to the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and the Tata Tiago.
