Hyundai, Kia & LG Chem joins together to develop a new EV & Battery Challenge

Majority of Automakers are planning and gathering on for the development of the advanced tech E-vehicles in-order to produce a new advanced segments of EV in the market. And now Hyundai, KIA and LG Chem has announced today that they have come together to launch a new EV and Battery Challenge (EVBC). It will firstly see several startups showcase their respective innovative technologies, out of which up to 10 will be identified for potential investment and collaboration.

“We are widening our collaboration with startups that have promising and innovative ideas,” Youngcho Chi, President and Chief Innovation Officer of Hyundai, said in a statement. “We look forward to working with various start-ups that will lead the global EV market and next-generation battery innovation through a joint program with LG Chem, which has world-class battery technology.”

This online application started from June 22nd and will be open till the 28th of August, hence any interest ones can participate in this competition.

The applicants who pass the first review process will go for the virtual interviews in October, and the finalists will have to attend a two days workshops at Hyundai’s Cradle Silicon Valley office. Then on November the winner will be selected by these three companies. This global competition will be encouraging overall startups for developing and designing.
