Hyundai silently launches Grand i10 Nios CNG in India

Hyundai has made a silent launch of new Grand i10 Nios CNG in India at the starting price INRs 6.63 lakhs, this CNG variant has been offered with two different variants Magna and Sportz. The Grand i10 Nios CNG is INRs 73,000 more expensive than the petrol MT variants. The prices of Magna variants is INRs 6.63 lakhs and top spec Sportz variants is INRs 7.16 lakhs.

Powering the Grand i10 Nios CNG is done through a BS-6 compliant 1.2 litre Kappa engine which generates power of 69 PS and max Torque of 95NM, taking the emission norms the CNG variants produces less power than the petrol variants. Besides that it has been offered with 5 speed manual transmission.

Concerning the features added on to both CNG variants are steering-mounted audio and calling controls, keyless entry, and a height adjustable driver seat. The top-spec Nios CNG Sportz been offered with goodies like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, a wireless phone charger, steering-mounted audio controls, a multi-info display, projector headlamps as well as keyless entry, While Hyundai offers a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster on the petrol Sportz variant, it is absent in the CNG counterpart.

In terms of safety features offered in Grand i10 Nios CNG includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a rear view camera.

The eco-friendly Grand i10 Nios doesn’t have any direct rivals as it’s the only model with a CNG powertrain in its segment. However it hasn’t been offered with rear adjustable headrests, rear wash and wipe, cooled glove box and even a luggage lamp as on its top-spec Asta variants. With the launch in Indian market we can expect this CNG variant to launch in Nepal as well after the effect of COVID-19 reduces.
