Jeep launches the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee in India
Jeep India has launched its flagship model–the all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee–in India. The new Grand Cherokee, the fourth in the lineup, will be made in India alongside the other Jeep models. The fifth-generation Grand Cherokee comes at INR 77.5 lakh.
Design and features
While the original silhouette of the Grand Cherokee remains, the SUV comes with new design changes such as a new grille with Jeep’s signature 7-slot pattern, sleek headlights and taillights, rugged stance. As for lighting, the Grand Cherokee comes with LED units, fog lamps, and DRLs. Furthermore, the car comes with an increased ground clearance of 287 mm and water wading capacity of 533 mm.
Inside, the SUV comes with a three-spoke steering wheel, a 10.1-inch digital instrument console, leather-upholstered seats, eight-way adjustable front seats, a 10.25-inch passenger screen, and a 10-inch head-up display.
The 2022 Grand Cherokee comes equipped with notable features such as Active Driving Assistance System (ADAS), 360-degree camera, drowsy driver detection, wireless charging, 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, select terrain system, adaptive cruise control, eight airbags, and advanced brake assist, among others.
Powertrain
The 2022 Grand Cherokee is powered by a 2-litre turbo charged, four-cylinder, petrol engine. The engine generates a peak power of 268 hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. And for transmission, the engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic. Furthermore, the car is offered in five riding modes: Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand.
