Jeep, the American brand that pioneered SUVs is heading into Nepal with it’s latest offering, the Compass. The American manufacturer is very well known internationally for producing very capable off-road machines. Owned by the FCA, Fiat Chrysler Corporation which is the seventh largest automaker in the world. Their models like the Cherokee and the Wrangler are known all over the world for their offroading prowess.

Jeep is now officially entering Nepal with its latest compact and affordable SUV, the Compass. FCA is assembling the Compass at the Fiat plant in Ranjangaon near Pune. The Jeep Compass is powered by two engines, there is a 2 liter turbocharged diesel that gives 170 BHp and a 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol engine that generates 160 BHp. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with an option of a seven-speed automatic as well.
