Jeep India has unveiled its flagship model–the all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee–in India. After the SUV’s global debut in 2021, Jeep is readying to roll out the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee in November. The new Grand Cherokee, the fourth in the lineup, will be made in India alongside the other Jeep models.
Design and features
While the original silhouette of the Grand Cherokee remains, the SUV comes with new design changes such as a new grille with Jeep’s signature 7-slot pattern, sleek headlights and taillights, rugged stance. As for lighting, the Grand Cherokee comes with LED units, fog lamps, and DRLs. Furthermore, the car comes with an increased ground clearance of 287mm.
The all-new Grand Cherokee comes equipped with upgraded features such as a 10-inch infotainment system, 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch head-up display, and ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance System), leather-upholstered seats, USB ports, full connectivity system with 24×7 assistance, among others.
Jeep hasn’t revealed the Grand Cherokee’s engine options. However, in the International market, the SUV comes with different engine options such as a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol, a 5.7-litre V8, and turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid, among others. The model powered by a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine generates 290 hp of power and 348 Nm of torque, whereas a 5.7-litre V8 engine produces a power of 352 hp and a torque of 528 Nm. And a turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid engine is capable of producing 370 hp of power and 637 Nm of torque.
Jeep Grand Cherokee price in India
Jeep India has announced the plans to launch the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee in November. Although there is no official news regarding its price, the SUV is expected to come at a starting price of INR 80 lakh.
