Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid model introduced

JEEP has introduced the new Wrangler in a plugin hybrid model. Jeep is considered a big brand for off-road SUVs. There was no question that Jeep Wrangler would not attract every off-road SUV lover. The company has stated that the sale of Hybrid Wrangler will start at the beginning of 2021. Earlier, the company had unveiled the plugin hybrid model of Renegate and Compass.

The new Wrangler is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine. The engine will provide 270 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. An additional 44 bhp of power and 53 Nm of torque is produced in conjunction with the electric motor. It’s electric motor delivers 134 bhp of power and 245 Nm of torque. The combined power of all these is 375 hp and 637 Nm of torque. It has 8-speed transmission. Wrangler hybrid powertrain has three modes of operation – Hybrid, Electric, and eSave. The new Jeep Wrangler is available in three models: 4xe, Sahara 4xe, and Rubicon 4xe and it will be sold globally, with electric vehicle (EV) charge plugs. All variants are connected to a four-wheel-drive system.

The company is going to bring a new Wrangler to the market by making a big change in the engine without making any significant changes in the design. The company has used blue color in the new Wrangler in various places from exterior to interior. Apart from this, no modifications have been made in the regular model.

The company has provided 17 kW lithium-ion battery. The battery is placed under the second-row seat. In addition, Jeep has proven that all the electronics parts used in it are free from dust and water. It can be easily operated in 30-inch deep water. While driving in hybrid mode, if the battery charge decreases, the engine will start automatically.

Wrangler is also available in the Nepali market. Thus, in the near future, it can be estimated to be found on Nepalese roads.
