Kia Motors officially launches “Seltos” the most awaited Compact SUV in Nepal
Kia Motors, world’s 8th largest automaker, has launched its much-awaited compact SUV Seltos in the Nepalese market. The Seltos oozes contemporary and stylish design with plush and spacious interiors and it boasts many segment firsts with class leading safety features, making the vehicle capable to disrupt the segment and create a niche for itself. Kia Seltos comes equipped with Smartstream, a third-generation powertrain developed for high efficiency and powerful performance. Available in four variants – HTK, HTK+, HTX and HTX+, the Seltos starts from Rs 49.90 Lakhs.
Manufactured in India by KIA Motors at its Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh, the Seltos brings sophistication, assertiveness and cutting-edge technology and safety features to the global compact SUV segment. Distributed in Nepal by Continental Trading Enterprises Pvt. Ltd, the sole authorised distributors for KIA in Nepal, the Seltos was launched amidst a program under the presence of His Excellency Mr. Park Young-sik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Nepal and Mr. Suhrid Ghimire, President- Continental Group.
Since its launch in August 2019 in India, Kia has sold 26,840 units of Seltos in less than 70 days. With just a single product in the market, the company became India’s 5th largest auto manufacturer. In achieving this feat, the Seltos has not only overtaken many established and newly launched SUVs in different segments but also led the way in addressing the unmet needs of the car-buying customers by surpassing customers’ expectations in all areas.

The interior of the Seltos is designed with high-quality, futuristic materials. The cabin is characterized by broad, sweeping shapes and highly technical details. Equipped with a range of technologies to maximize convenience, connectivity and ease of use, the bold design of the cabin incorporates a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Sound Mood Lighting. The ergonomics of the cabin allow the driver to sit comfortably with a commanding view, helping to focus on driving and naturally reduce fatigue. The car is also available with a premium eight speaker Bose audio system delivering clear, lifelike sound to all Seltos passengers.
The Seltos comes equipped with Smartstream – newly developed third generation BS VI compliant powertrain for high efficiency and powerful performance. The Seltos, by offering BSVI diesel and petrol engines, reiterates Kia Motors’ commitment towards offering cleaner mobility solution. The vehicle will come in petrol and diesel guise and will be offered in both manual and automatic transmission option.
The Seltos gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, HAC, VSM and is built on robust structure, which has high usage of advanced high strength steel (AHSS) that fortifies the Seltos’s core and keeps the occupants safe in an event of a crash. Additionally, the front and rear parking sensors, blind view monitor ensures that the visibility of unseen vehicles is not compromised, giving the driver confidence at all times.
