Kia Sonet concept was revealed in the Auto expo 2020, a modern, dynamic and bold designed sub-compact SUV was able to get maximum popularity and favoritism during the event. It moreover looks like a scaled down version of the Kia Seltos. Sonet is designed with the aim to exceed customer’s lifestyle and technology expectations.
Sonet has been offered with a Kia’s signature “tiger-nose” grille a bit sharper and sleekier looks. It comes with a tiger eyeline flanked daytime running lights and wide rear signature lighting with a snazzy DRLs, and at the rear it comes with a connected tail lamps.
Inside, the cabin is fitted with a 10.25-inch infotainment and navigation system with UVO Connect, a Bose premium audio system, and an intelligent manual transmission (iMT). The Kia Sonet concept also hints at best-in-class interior space, and certain first-in-class features along it has wireless charging, automatic climate control AC, sunroof, cruise control, remote engine start and air purifier.
The Kia Sonet will be powered by the same powertrains options as in the Hyundai Venue 1.2 litre petrol, 1.0 litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. Transmission duties will be handled by a manual and an iMT (AMT automatic) gearbox. All these engines are expected to be BS-6 compliant at the time of launch.
Last year on August 2019 Kia had revealed Seltos into the market and this year on August 2020 as an anniversary event Kia Motors India will be launching its second SUV Sonet. The Kia Sonet will be competing with Tata Nexon, Hyundai VENUE, Ford Ecosports, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza, along with the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Vision IN (SUV Based).
