The Lava R3 packs a 5.7 inch HD+ IPS display with an 18:9 near bezel-less design. The display is edged out by a 2.5D glass giving users a seamless experience. Encased in a metal shell, the phone looks and feels very premium. Under the hood, the Lava R3 packs a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor along with the Mali-T720 GPU. The processor is backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The internal memory can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 2128GB. The phone also does support dual nano sim-cards and is 4G capable.

In the camera department, the Lava R3 packs a 13MP rear camera along with a LED flash. The phone also has an 8MP front camera for all your selfies. The R3 also comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded into its rear panel.  The phone too comes with other necessary sensors like an accelerometer, compass, and a proximity sensor. Software-wise, the phone runs Star OS 4.2 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. And finally powering this device all up is a 3000mAh non-user removable battery.
