Mahindra launches the Scorpio Classic in India
Mahindra & Mahindra limited has launched the new Scorpio Classic in India. The new SUV gets the same original structure of its predecessors but comes with new design changes, enhanced performance, and upgraded features. The Classic is offered in two variants: the S (base model) and the S11 (top model)–at a starting price of INR 11.99 lakh and it goes up to 15.99 lakh for the top model.
Design

The new Scorpio Classic continues to keep its original structure as that of its predecessors. But the front fascia is redesigned with a new refreshed grille along with the new twin-peak logo and the hood scoop makes the bonnet seem more muscular. As for lighting, the SUV gets a revised set of projector LED headlamps with fog lamps as well as DRLs and at the rear it comes with tower-shaped LED tail lamps. Furthermore, the car stands on 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (only in S11).

Inside, the new SUV comes with a two-tone beige and black interior theme and classic wooden pattern at the centre console. The Classic is offered in seven or-nine seat layouts with premium upholstered seats. The dashboard features a leather wrapped steering wheel with mounted control buttons and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system (compatible with Android) with screen mirroring function.
Engine
The Scorpio Classic is powered by a 2.2-litre, second-generation mHawk engine which is capable of producing a maximum power of 132 PS and maximum torque of 230 Nm. The engine is mated to a new 6-speed cable shift manual transmission. The all-aluminium lightweight engine is 55 kg lighter than that of its previous models and it provides 14% better fuel efficiency.
Features
The SUV’s suspension set-up is tuned with MTV-CL technology that delivers superior handling, balanced control, and easy manoeuvrability. The vehicle’s other notable features are its cruise control, cornering lamps, ABS, auto-door lock, electrically adjusted ORVMs, speed alert, and automatic climate control, among others. Over the S model, the S 11 gets additional features such as LED eyebrows, spoiler, and arm rest on the front seats.
