Mahindra Scorpio-N launched at Rs 81.50 lakh in Nepal

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its much-awaited SUV-the all-new Scorpio-N–for the Nepalese market. The new SUV, built on the company’s third-generation body-on-frame platform, comes with a new design and upgraded features. The all-new Scorpio-N is offered in two variants: the Z4 and the Z8–at a starting price of Rs 81.50 lakh and it goes up to Rs 1.24 crore.

Design 

The all-new Scorpio-N is built on the brand’s third-generation body-on-frame platform. The SUV has larger dimensions compared to the outgoing models, with an increase of 206 mm in length and 97 mm in width, as well as a 70 mm longer wheelbase than the standard Scorpio. The SUV’s revised front fascia features a redesigned front grille with six chrome slats, brand’s new “Twin Peak” logo, dual LED projector headlamps, and C-shaped fog lamp. Inside, the SUV gets a dual-tone (black and brown) interior with a seven-seating configuration. The dashboard features a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, a seven-inch TFT instrument console, and an eight-inch infotainment system. And on top of that, the car gets an electric sunroof.

Powertrain

The Scorpio-N is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine that is capable of generating a peak power of 172 hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. For transmission, the engine comes mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, the four-wheel drive SUV is also offered with four riding modes: Tarmac, Snow, Mud, and Desert.

Features

The Scorpio-N gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system–powered by the company’s ArdenoX suite–that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, the ArdenoX system also offers about 70+ car-connectivity features that can be monitored via a smartphone and smartwatch. The SUV comes with notable convenience features such as its electric sunroof, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, engine start/stop button, dual-zone AC, electric steering wheel with mounted control buttons, power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, wireless charging, cruise control, and rear and front camera, depending on the variants. For safety, the SUV gets up to seven airbags and comes with other features such as ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control system, hill-hold/descent control, rear and front parking sensors, and ISOFIX, depending on the variants.
