Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the new updated version of the Dzire compact sedan in India at the starting price of INRs 5.89 lakh – INRs 8.80 lakh. It has been made available in 7 new variants.
The model lineup includes 4 manual versions and three AMT models. The 2020 Maruti Dzire facelift is powered by a BS-6 compliant 1.2 litre Dualjet K12C petrol engine which delivers 90 bhp of max power @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque. Besides that it has been paired with 5 speed AMT.
The carmaker says that the updated motor has higher compression ratio, piston cooling jet and cooled EGR system that improves its efficiency and reduces friction. As said Dzire facelift comes with both manual and AGS (automatic gear shift) transmission options. While the manual version promises a class-leading fuel economy of 23.26kmpl, the AGS variant delivers 24.12kmpl.
What new has been added?
The Dzire facelift has been given a redesigned front fascia, new grille and bold chrome accents. The new 2020 sedan gets a LED projector headlamps with DRLs, Auto foldable ORVMs with key sync and precision cut dual- tone alloy wheels. Inside this sedan it has been offered with premium look, paired with new 7 inch Smartplay studio infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The new Dzire gets a spacious cabin with dual-tone seats and wooden accents on the dash and door. Features such as hill hold assist, cruise control and electronic stability program are standard on the AGS variants.
The safety features includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX and pre-tensioner force limiter seat belts. The 2020 Dzire will be competing with Hyundai Aura, Ford Aspire, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze. Further to that the new compact sedan gets a two new colour options : Phoenix red and Premium Silver.
