MG Astor set to be launched at Rs 48.49 lakh in Nepal
Paramount Motors Pvt.Ltd, the authorised importer and distributor of MG vehicles for Nepal, is readying to roll out its new compact SUV–the Astor–in the Nepalese market. The Astor will be offered in only a single trim: the Super, at an introductory price of Rs 48.49 lakh. The company plans to launch the SUV within a month, which will serve as a rival to the Hyundai Creta and Skoda Kushaq.
Design
The new Astor gets a similar design as the MG ZS EV models; however its front fascia features a bold celestial grille and full LED hawkeye headlamps, and on the rear, the SUV gets LED taillamps and chrome accentuated bumper with dual exhaust. The SUV will come with turbine-inspired machined alloy wheels and roof rails with satin silver finish. Furthermore, the car might be offered in three different colours: Starry Black, Spiced Orange, and Glaze Red.
Inside, the Astor will come with iconic ivory-themed interiors and leather-upholstered seats. The 5-seater SUV will get a multilayered dashboard that features a flat-bottomed steering wheel with three steering modes: Normal, Urban and Dynamic, a 3.5-inch fully-digital instrument console, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Powertrain
In India, the MG Astor has been offered with both naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines, but in Nepal, the SUV will only be available with naturally aspirated petrol engines. So, the Astor will be powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates a peak power of 108 hp and a peak torque of 110 Nm. And for transmission, the engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
