Ola launches its new electric scooter: the S1 Air
Ola has launched its new entry level electric scooter–the S1 Air–in India. The S1 Air comes with a 2.5kWh IP67-rated battery that provides an ARAI range of 101 km.The e-scooter is Ola’s latest addition to the lineup, including the S1 and the S1 Pro models. The S1 Air comes at an introductory price of INR 79,999.
Design
The S1 Air gets the same simple and fluid design as its predecessors. The e-scooter’s front fascia features two projector headlamps with DRLs and sleek LED turn indicators. At the rear, the scooter gets LED tail lights and a grab rail. The S1 Air comes with a flat unibody seat and boot storage of 34-litre. Furthermore, the scooter has been offered five colours: Coral Glam, Neo Mint, Porcelain White, Jet Black and Liquid Silver.
The e-scooter comes equipped with a massive TFT touchscreen display and 3GB RAM, an octa-core processor, WiFi, 4G connectivity, geo-fencing, and Bluetooth features. The e-scooter’s other notable features are its side-stand alert, electric start, reverse mode, electronic steering control lock, riding modes (Eco, Sport, Normal), hill-hold function, OTA updates, and remote boot lock/unlock, among others.
Powertrain
The S1 Air comes equipped with a 2.5 kWh battery pack (IP67-rated) and a hub motor that generates a peak power of 4.5 kW. For charging, the e-scooter gets fully-charged in 4.5 hours and on a single charge, the scooter provides a range of 101 km–according to ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India). Furthermore, the scooter can speed up to 85 kmph and accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 4.3 seconds.
