Oppo A83 launched in the international market

Oppo, a Chinese smartphone OEM, has recently launched their latest mid-tier smartphone, the Oppo A83 in China. Here is a look at everything the phone packs for a price of around $215.

The Oppo A83 packs a 572 inch HD IPS display with an 18:9 near bezel-less design and a pixel density of 282PPI. The display is edged out by a 2.5D glass giving users a seamless experience. Encased in a glass and metal shell, the phone looks and feels very premium. Under the hood, the Oppo A83 packs an octa-core MediaTek MT6763T Helio P23 along with the Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. The processor is backed by 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The internal memory can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB. The phone also does support dual nano sim-cards and is 4G capable.

In the camera department, the Oppo A83 packs a f/2.2 13MP rear camera along with a LED flash. The phone also has a f/2.2 8MP front camera for all your selfies. The A83, however, doesn’t come equipped with a fingerprint scanner which in our frank opinion is a huge letdown. The phone, however, makes up for it with a facial recognition system. Now you can unlock the phone with your face within 0.18s (According to Oppo). The phone also comes with other necessary sensors like an accelerometer, compass, and a proximity sensor. Software-wise, the phone runs Color OS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. And finally powering this device all up is a 3180mAh non-user removable battery. This coupled with the HD display will be enough to get users a full day worth of battery life without any issues.

The Oppo A83 is an okayish mid-tier smartphone which packs some modern features. The phone, however, lacks some key elements like a fingerprint scanner, a more powerful processor, and a gyroscope. That said, the near borderless design, facial recognition, and premium build will help lure a lot of people towards it. For more on the Oppo A83, stick with us!
