Renault Kiger Launched in India with an Introductory Price of 5.45 lakh

Renault Kiger from the French automaker has been launched in India, with introductory prices of INR 5.45 lakh. The first compact SUV from Renault will be available in two engine options, four trims offerings – RXE, RXL, RXT, RXZ, four engine-gearbox combinations – 72hp MT, 72hp AMT, 100hp MT, 100hp AMT, and will be based on the CMFA+ platform that also underpins the Triber, Kwid, and the Nissan Magnite.

The much-awaited Renault Kiger subcompact SUV will lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, and Mahindra XUV300.

Specs details of Renault Kiger

The Renault Kiger holds design features elevated with youthful components and a more dynamic design language. It carries over the horizontally stacked headlamps mounted over the front bumper and sleek LED DRLs which lend it a high bonnet effect. The signature front main grille at the front seems to have a borrowed styling from the popular Kwid entry-level crosshatch. The SUV gets pronounced wheel arches that accommodate 16-inch steel and diamond-cut alloy wheels, depending on the variant. The model also gets a high ground clearance at about 205 mm.

The interior of the Kiger gets sophisticated yet rich features such as an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch digital instrument console, climate control, engine start-stop, steering mounted controls, and more. Furthermore, the SUV also comes with the Arkamays 3D sound system, wireless charging, and rear AC vents with a 12-volt charging slot The SUV gets a dual-tone themed cabin with fabric upholstery on the seats and door pads.

The boot capacity of the Kiger remains to be 405 liters that expand to 879 liters with the rear seats folded. The company offers six color options in this model ( Ice Cool White, Planet Grey, Moonlight Grey, Mahogany Brown, Caspian Blue, and Radiant Red with Mystery Black Roof).

Inside the hood, the Kiger will be powered by 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol with 98 bhp and 160 Nm of peak torque and a 1.0-liter three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol available with 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. The engines will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox, while the automatic options will include an AMT as well as a CVT.

As per the launch in Nepal, Advanced Automobiles Pvt. Ltd, the sole authorized distributor of Renault Cars in Nepal, has stated earlier that the SUV will soon make a presence in Nepal. It is expected to hit the Nepalese road around the second quarter of the year 2021.
