Renault Kiger Teased Showing LED DRLs Ahead of Global Debut
Renault released an official teaser image of Kiger in a production-ready form with a global debut set for 28th Jan 2021. The new Kiger is to be launched in India for the first time and later follow other global markets. Launch details for Nepal are quite uncertain; nevertheless, we expect the new Kiger to enter the country by the end of the year 2021.
The Kiger will join the sub-4metre compact SUV segment and face tough competition against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Ford EcoSport, and Nissan Magnite.
The new Renault Kiger will be based on the CMFA+ platform that also underpins the Renault Triber. The new teaser image released by the French manufacturer showcases its tri-beam LED projector headlamps and horizontal LED Daytime Running Lights sitting on top.
Other than that, the Kiger features an aggressive front bumper with a twin-slat grille with a prominent Renault badge in the center. Furthermore, it features a wide central air inlet, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, floating roofline, C-shaped LED tail lamps, shark fin antenna, and so on.
The interior will boast of a touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, in-car connective features, cooled glovebox, around view camera, digital instrument panel and automatic AC, and many more. The new Kiger will have a 210mm ground clearance.
The powertrain options for the crossover SUV are likely to be shared with Nissan Magnite. That is a 1.0-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine that generates 71 bhp and 96 Nm and a 1.0-liter three-pot turbo petrol. Both a five-speed manual and an AMT will likely be on offer while a CVT could be limited to the top-end variants only.
Are you curious to know when will the Renault Kiger enter Nepal? Well then, stay in the space to follow the updates!
