Renault Kiger to Launch within a Month: Might be Cheaper than Magnite
Advanced Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of Renault vehicles for Nepal, is preparing to bring the hyped Renault Kiger into the Nepalese market within a month. Reports suggest that Kiger might actually enter Nepal with a lower price tag than the recently launched Nissan Magnite.
The first compact SUV from Renault made an appearance in India some time ago and Renault Nepal has now announced that Kiger is ‘Coming Soon’ in Nepal through their social media platform.
The starting price of Magnite and Kiger in India was announced as INR 5.48 Lakh and INR 5.45 Lakh respectively. Following the released price in India, expectations are high for Kiger to hold a slightly cheap price tag in Nepal as well.
The Kiger launched in India is made available in two engine options, four trims offerings – RXE, RXL, RXT, RXZ, four engine-gearbox combinations – 72hp MT, 72hp AMT, 100hp MT, 100hp AMT, and will be based on the CMFA+ platform that also underpins the Triber, Kwid, and the Nissan Magnite.
Most recently the Nepalese market experienced the launch of Magnite and we have yet to see if Renault will be able to surpass the hype created by Nissan.
Mechanically, Kiger will be powered by 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol with 98 bhp and 160 Nm of peak torque and a 1.0-liter three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol available with 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. The engines will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox, while the automatic options will include an AMT as well as a CVT.
The Renault Kiger holds design features elevated with youthful components and a more dynamic design language. The interior of the Kiger gets sophisticated yet rich features such as an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch digital instrument console, climate control, engine start-stop, steering mounted controls, and more. The boot capacity of the Kiger remains to be 405 liters that expand to 879 liters with the rear seats folded. The model also gets a high-ground clearance at about 205 mm.
