Ripple Genos and Ripple Genos Pro with Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9
A Nepal-based OEM laptop brand Ripple has launched its latest offering, the Genos series. The series will comprise two models from the brand namely, Ripple Genos and Ripple Genos Pro. The brand earlier released a couple of gaming laptops under ‘Ripple Artifact series’ in the market as well and now has extended its product portfolio with the latest addition.
The Ripple brand has stepped into a competitive market that is heavily dominated by Chinese tech manufacturing companies. However, the brand has tried to bring tough competitors into the market to go head-to-head with the leading brand in Nepal with their effort to bring top-notch specs and reasonable pricing. The Nepali brand is involved in assembling various parts of a computer to provide additional options for the consumers in Nepal.
Overview
Unlike the previous offering by Ripple, the about-to-launch Genos series comes as a premium offering. This particular series is focused on solid performance and not just a regular gaming laptop. Meanwhile, the two models in the series have minimal but essential differences it i.e. they are installed with different CPUs and GPU, which we will get to in detail in a while.

Design and Display
The design of the Genos series laptop is almost identical to each other. Both laptops are sturdy with an overall weight of 2.6 kg. The bezel of the laptop is kept quite slim which leads to a premium feel and the HD webcam is featured on the top bezel. The dimensions of both the laptops measure 361 x 258 x 32.5 mm. Similarly, the laptop comes with a backlit keyboard, numeric keypad along with fifteen color options along a screen pad below the keyboard.
In terms of display, the Ripple Genos and Ripple Genos Pro will be featuring the same display: 15.6 inches Full HD IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate. In terms of resolution, the device has an FHD 1920×1080 resolution.
Performance and Memory
The Ripple Genos runs on AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor paired with 8 GB DDR4 SO-DIM and 256 GB SSD for an excellent performance that delivers ultra-fast 100+ FPS performance in most games. It has 8 cores and 16 processing threads, bundled with the AMD Wraith Prism cooler with color-controlled LED support. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphic card is for incredible performance and unmatchable power of a real-time gaming experience.
On the other hand, the Ripple Genos Pro runs on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 chipset paired with the same 8 GB DDR4 SO-DIM and 256 GB SSD that should run smoothly for all kinds of games. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 graphic card is installed for incredible realism and performance in the latest games. The storage for both laptops can be further upgraded up to 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD, and an extra 1TB HDD. Additionally, the GPUs on the laptops are also the Max-P version instead of the MAX-Q variant that we see on normal laptops.
Other features
The Ripple Genos series comes with HD stereo speakers with Sound Blaster Cinema 6 which allows users to configure the audio settings. The laptops also include one of the best cooling systems and come with dedicated tools to optimize the cooling system. Additionally, users can tweak fan speed, undervolt the CPU, and other settings via the software. Both the laptops have one microSD card reader with one Mini DisplayPort 1.4 which supports G-SYNC-compatible monitors.
The laptops come with a 62Whrs battery compatible with a 230W power supply. Connectivity options include Realtek Gigabit LAN, WLAN 802.11 ax, and Bluetooth 5.0. For OS, Windows 10 is default but you can also request for Linux.
