Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based startup, has revealed its flagship Simple One electric scooter in India at an attractive price of INR 1,09,999. The One comes with four riding modes: Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic.
The One e-scooter has sharp edges and lines running across its body. The scooter’s fascia is dominated by a triangular-shaped LED headlamp; the side indicators and tail lamp are LED as well. One of the highlights of the One is a massive 7-inch TFT instrument cluster (IP67 certified), which features multiple information and gets 4G and Bluetooth connectivity. The dash has features such as music and call control, navigation, vehicle tracking, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The e-scooter has a design that is both youthful and aggressive, and it looks nearly identical to the Ather 450X, which is available in India. The Simple One, on the other hand, appears to be significantly more spacious. In fact, the Simple One’s 30-litre under-seat storage capacity is second only to the market-leading 36-litre storage capacity of the Ola Electric.
And with its powerful 4.8 kW battery pack (biggest in its segment), the One delivers a range of 203 km in Eco mode while maintaining the speed of 40-45 kmph. According to the company, the battery pack manages to deliver a peak power of 4.5 kW, and its 8.5 kW electric motor delivers a peak torque of 72 Nm. The scooter comes with a fixed and removable battery, which can be charged separately, and the fixed battery can charge from 0-80% in 2.75 hours.
The tubular frame of the Simple One is supported by a telescopic fork and a mono-shock. The electric scooter’s braking system includes a 200mm front disc and a 190mm rear disc paired with a combined braking system and regenerative braking. It gets 12-inch wheels in 90/90 (front and rear), 100/80, and 110/80 (front and rear) configurations.
The Simple One has a length of 1,833mm, a width of 768mm, and a height of 1,280mm. It has a wheelbase of 1,300mm and a seat height of 775mm. It can wade through water depths of up to 300mm. The kerb weight of the electric scooter is 110kg.
