At the 2020 Auto Expo in India, Skoda showcased their hotly contested mid-size SUV segment, Vision IN, and amazed the crowd. Now, the brand has stepped into the bandwagon as the Vision IN Concept-based production five-seater SUV that will lock horns with Hyundai Creta, Kia Sonet, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector, and others.
The most-awaited mid-size SUV from the Czech carmaker in 2021, “Škoda KUSHAQ” is now finally entering Nepal during the month of August. MAW Enterprises, the official distributor for Škoda vehicles for Nepal, announced the news along with the call for dealers across the country.
An interesting fact about the Škoda Kushaq is that it will be the first production model to roll out under Volkswagen Group’s ‘India 2.0 Project’ and underpins the brand’s MQB-A0-IN platform.
The powertrain of the Kushaq comes in two different options – a 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI turbo petrol engine which is expected for the base trim that is good for 110 PS / 175 Nm of torque and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI turbo petrol engine that generates 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by 6-speed manual gearbox.
The design factor of the Kushaq holds elements such as split LED headlamps with DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails, butterfly front grille, bold ‘SKODA’ lettering on the tailgate, and so on.
