Skoda unveils the all-new VISION 7S concept EV

Skoda has globally unveiled the all-new VISION 7S concept EV. The new seven-seater electric SUV will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform and it will be equipped with a 89 kW battery that provides a range of more than 600 km. The company plans to roll out the new model by 2026.

Oliver Stefani, Chief designer of Skoda, said, “Over recent months, we have collaboratively developed an entirely new design language. I would like to thank my team for their great dedication and outstanding work on this intensive and exciting project. We’ve refined time-proven solutions and courageously broken new ground. The minimalist, functional design conveys a sense of security and radiates strength, while at the same time enhancing the aerodynamics of the vehicles we’ll be adding to our portfolio in the future.”

Design

Skoda says the all-new VISION 7S is based on improved aerodynamics and modern design language. The EV’s front fascia features a new Tech-deck face that replaces Skoda’s signature grille; the ribs have been replaced by dark glass that conceals the vehicle’s sensors. The EV will be the first one to get the new ŠKODA wordmark (replacing the brand’s 3D logo). As for lighting, the EV will come with T-shaped LED lamps at both ends.

Inside, the three-row SUV features a spacious cabin with seating capacity of seven; including the rear-facing child seat. The EV comes with two driving modes: Drive and Relax. The Relax mode moves the steering wheel away and allows the seats to recline and rotate; and it also rotates the 14.6-inch screen to ease streaming video when charging or taking a break.

The dashboard features a two-spoke steering wheel with haptic scroll wheels and behind it is an 8.8-inch instrument console. The cabin gets a rotatory 14.6-inch infotainment system. Furthermore, the EV is equipped with a sizable centre console with six control buttons for the infotainment, phone, vehicle settings, navigation, and app menus.

Specifications

The Vision 7S EV is 1950 mm long, 1940 mm wide, and 1888 mm high. And the SUV comes with 21-inch wheels with a wheelbase of 3075 mm and a ground clearance of 242 mm.

As for battery, the Vision 7S will be powered by the 89 kW battery which is capable of providing a range of more than 600 km, according to the WLTP.
