Skoda Vision IN Compact SUV Snapped Testing in India

The Skoda Vision IN spy shots has made their way to the internet while being on the test run in India. A couple of completely camouflaged test mules were spotted making test runs on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. Initially, the concept of the Skoda Vision IN was showcased in India for the first time during Auto Expo 2020 and now that the testing has started, it is expected to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2021 and go on sale by the second quarter.

As per the updates, Skoda Vision IN will arrive in India before Volkswagen Taigun compact SUV, which is estimated to hit the market a few months after Vision IN goes on sale. After Karoq, Vision IN will be the second compact SUV in the carmaker’s portfolio. Based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 IN platform, Vision IN is likely to rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, and KIA Seltos.

Moving forward to the test mule- even though the vehicles were fully camouflaged, it is not a bigger deal to recognize it. The brand’s design language along with a simple-looking grille, bumper, and headlight makes it pretty clear for these being Vision IN. However, one of the test mules is carrying steel-rims and is assumed to be an entry-level variant whereas the other one has alloy wheels. Sadly, we cannot figure out much of the inside of this beauty, nevertheless, a glimpse of the dashboard can be seen which features a touchscreen infotainment system.

The petrol-only compact SUV will be powered by a 1.5-liter TSI BS6 turbocharged petrol mill that will be producing 150 bhp and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
