Suzuki Access 125 overview
Design and features
The BS6 Suzuki Access comes with minor changes made to the exterior that the earlier standard version featured. The split headlamp is now LED: the top section is for low beam lights and the bottom section for high beam. That said, the rest of the lights–side indicators and the tail lamp–continue to use halogen bulbs. The fuel cap has been shifted from the inside of the seat to the rear, just above the tail lamp, and it is key-operated. It can’t, however, be opened remotely, and customers still need to get off the vehicle to unlock it, which sort of takes away from the convenience afforded by this additional feature. All that the company had to do was provide a switch at the front to unlock the cap.

The previous generation of the Access became one of the most successful scooters in India owing to its practicality, spacious nature, comfortable seating, and powerful performance, and these aspects have been improved in the all-new BS6 Access. The seat is now longer than before, without comfort having been compromised; there is more space on the floorboard; and the boot space has been increased to 21.8-litre (best-in-class). A phone-charging socket has been placed beside a small pocket, which can accomodate a water bottle or a phone, and there are two hooks on the front for hanging your shopping bags, etc. The BS6 model’s overall design is similar to the previous-gen model, which featured a retro look: chrome inserts on the headlamps, mirrors, tail lamp, side indicators, and silencer; Suzuki badging upfront and model badging on the sides; and the tail lamp cluster and bar ends behind the seat.

Performance
The Access comes in premium quality and features refinements that improve the practicality of the scooter. And its power. The scooter is equipped with a BS6-compliant fuel-injected 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates a power of 8.6 bhp at 6750 rpm and a torque of 10 Nm at 5500 rpm (down by 0.2 Nm compared to a non-BS6 engine). The scooter gets an additional Suzuki Eco Performance Technology feature along with an integrated engine start and kill switch, and a 12V4Ah battery pack.
Rest of the specs
It uses a telescopic suspension on the front wheel, while the rear uses a swing-arm suspension. Braking duties are handled by the disc at the front and drum at the rear; both the front and back feature alloy wheels. The dimensions of the BS6 Access are 1870 mm in length, 690 mm in width, and 1160 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 1265 mm; the ground clearance measures 160 mm; and the seat height measures 773 mm. The kerb weight of the scooter is 103 kg, and the fuel tank capacity is 5 litres.
