Suzuki unveils the Jimny and the Fronx in Nepal

CG Motocorp, the sole authorised distributor of Suzuki cars in Nepal, has unveiled its two much-awaited SUVs—the Jimmy and the Fronx—in the Nepalese market. The company has offered the all-new Fronx in three variants: the Sigma, the Delta, and the Delta+—at a starting price of Rs 39.99 lakh—while the Jimny has been available in two variants: the Zeta and the Alpha—at a base price of Rs 59.99 lakh.

Suzuki Fronx

The new Suzuki Fronx will be based on the company’s Heartect platform (like Baleno models) that gets the same wheelbase of 2520 mm as the Baleno hatchback; however, the Fronx is 5 mm longer, 20 mm wider and 50 mm taller, comparatively. The crossover’s front fascia features an all-black NEXWAVE front grille and auto headlamps with NEXTRE LED DRLs. At the rear, the Fronx comes with split LED tail lamps that are connected by a horizontal LED light bar. The Fronx’s cabin, inspired from the Baleno model, comes with dual-tone plush interiors. Other notable interior features are its leather-upholstered seats, a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, instrument console, either a nine-inch or seven-inch infotainment system (depending upon the variants) that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Suzuki Fronx is powered by a 1.2-litre dualjet-petrol engine–mated to a five-speed manual transmission–produces a peak power of 89 hp and a peak torque of 113 Nm. The SUV coupe will come with a fuel tank capacity of 37-litre and it provides a fuel tank capacity of 21.79 kmpl.

The Suzuki Fronx comes equipped with notable features such as automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, fabric seat upholstery, powered windows, tilt adjustment for steering, dual tone interior, 6 airbags, hill hold assist, rear view camera, reverse parking sensor, electronic stability program, rear defogger, wheel covers, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, voice assistance, 4-speaker sound system, 308-litre boot space, and rear AC vents, among others.

Suzuki Jimny

The new Suzuki Jimny gets a boxy and squared-out design. The SUV measures 3985 mm in length, 1645 mm in width, and 1720 mm in height; it has a wheelbase of 2590 mm and a ground clearance of 210 mm. The Jimny also comes with notable design elements such as a five-slot chrome plate grille, round-shaped LED headlamps, an optimized bumper, drip rails, and 15-inch alloy or steel wheels. Inside, the SUV gets a sporty cabin with a scratch-resistant surface and leather-upholstered seats. The dashboard features a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls and a nine-inch or seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that is capable of generating a peak power of 103 hp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 134.2 Nm at 4000 rpm. For transmission, the engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The SUV comes with a fuel tank capacity of 40-litre and it provides a mileage of 16.94 kmpl. Moreover, the SUV will also be offered with an automatic transmission option in the future.

The SUV comes equipped with notable features such as ABS with EBD, brake assist function, dual front bags, electronic stability program, hill descent control, hill assist control, immobiliser, rear view camera, automatic climate control, cruise control, engine push start/stop with smart key, power windows, and tilt steering, among others.
