Suzuki commences delivery of the Jimny in Nepal; price starts from Rs 59.99 lakh
CG Motocorp and CG NXTGEN, the sole authorised distributors of Suzuki cars in Nepal, has commenced delivery of the much-awaited SUV, the 5-door Jimny, for the Nepalese market. The all-new 5-door Jimny model comes with a redesigned rear section, two more doors, and a larger wheelbase as compared to the global 3-door Jimny models. The company has offered the SUV in two variants—the Zeta and the Alpha—at a price of Rs 59.99 lakh and Rs 64.49 lakh, respectively.
Commenting on the occasion, the company said: “Ever since its launch in India, the five-door is in very high demand with a long waiting list. Since this SUV is best suited to Nepali driving conditions, we have specially requested for speedy availability of Nepal. The outcome of which we will be delivering the first batch in a waiting period less than that in India. We are confident Nepali customers will create new experiences with the new Jimny. To enhance that experience the company will be launching various Jimny-focused activities in near future.”
Design and features
The new Suzuki Jimny gets a boxy and squared-out design. The SUV measures 3985 mm in length, 1645 mm in width, and 1720 mm in height; it has a wheelbase of 2590 mm and a ground clearance of 210 mm. The Jimny also comes with notable design elements such as a five-slot chrome plate grille, round-shaped LED headlamps, an optimised bumper, drip rails, and 15-inch alloy or steel wheels. Inside, the SUV gets a sporty cabin with a scratch-resistant surface and leather-upholstered seats. The dashboard features a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls and a nine-inch or a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Suzuki Jimny comes equipped with notable safety features such as 6 airbags, brake LSD, hill descent control, hill hold assist, rear view camera, engine immobiliser, ABS, EBD, ESP, brake assist function, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages, among others. For convenience, the SUV gets cruise control, manual/automatic climate control, tilt power steering, power windows, 4 speakers, and engine push start/stop with smart key, among others.
Powertrain
The Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that is capable of generating a peak power of 103 hp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 134.2 Nm at 4000 rpm. For transmission, the engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The SUV comes with a fuel tank capacity of 40-litre and it provides a mileage of 16.94 kmpl. Moreover, the SUV will also be offered with an automatic transmission option in the future.
