Tata H5X SUV Possibly Named

Since its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo, test mules of the Tata H5X concept have been spotted multiple times on Indian roads. As per a new report, the H5X concept will be named as Harrier upon launch. Tata Harrier SUV name is inspired by a bird, just like the name of previous Tata project codenames – Tiago and Tigor had Kite 3 and Kite 5 codename.

The SUV will be the first Tata product to carry the new Impact Design 2.0 design language. Set to be built at Tata’s plant in Chakan, Pune, the SUV is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine in two states of tune, with the model being offered in five- and seven-seat configurations. Pricing of the production variant of the H5X, Tata Harrier is expected to be in the range of 12-16 lakh Indian rupees, as it would sit over the Hexa in Tata’s line-up. Post launch, it will be competing with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass & the Renault Captur.
