Tata lowers the Nexon EV’s price; the Max lineup gets a new variant, the XM

Tata Motors has reduced the 2023 Nexon EV’s price and launched a new variant–the XM–in the Max line-up for the Indian market. The Prime now comes at a new base price of INR 14.49 lakh (INR 50,000 less), and the Max comes at a starting price of INR 16.49 lakh. According to the company, the price cut is influenced by the government’s PLI (Production-Linked Incentive) scheme. However, the price reduction is also a tactical maneuver against Tata’s only competitor, the XUV 400. For Prime, the revised price comes with the same specifications as its predecessors, but the Max models get some notable changes.

2023 Nexon EV Max

The new iteration Max provides an increased MIDC-claimed range of 453 km (16 km more), while the powertrain remains the same as its outgoing models, and the updated range will also be available to the existing models via software updates. The other notable changes are its electronic parking brake, auto climate control, ESP, projector headlamps with DRLs, and keyless go, among others.

XM trim

The XM, the Max line-up’s new base variant, comes at a starting price of INR 16.49 lakh and gets notable features such as an electronic parking brake, automatic climate control, ESP, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a digital TFT instrument cluster, and push-button start, among others.
