Tata unveils the Nexon EV Prime in Nepal

Tata Motors has unveiled the Nexon EV Prime at the NADA EV Expo 2022. The Nexon EV Prime’s models, inspired from the Nexon EV Max, get minimal design changes and new added features as that of the outgoing Nexon EV.

The Nexon EV Prime’s design is similar to its predecessors. However, the new EV comes with new design changes such as dual-tone body colour, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, front DRLs, and EV badging. And for interior, the e-SUV gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 7-inch infotainment system, leather-wrapped steering wheel and 60:40 split seats, among others.

The new EV comes with updated features such as indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), cruise control, multi-mode regenerative braking system, and 35 smart connected features accessed via a Tata Motors ZConnect Mobile App.

Other notable features are its electric sunroof, fully automatic temperature control, cruise control, dual airbags, remote central lock, ABS with EBD and stability control, smart key with push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, reverse parking assist, riding modes (Drive and Sport), and USB charging port, among others.

The Nexon EV Prime’s powertrain is based on the company’s Ziptron technology. The EV is powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery (IP67 rated)–paired to a 98.4 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM)–that generates a torque of 245 Nm. And the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 9.9 seconds.

In terms of charging, the Prime model can be full-charged in about 8.5 hours via a 15 A power outlet and with the use of a supercharger, the EV gets charged from 0-80% in 60 minutes. On a single charge, the Prime provides a range of 312 km.
