Maruti Suzuki India has silently discontinued the diesel variants of the Baleno and has removed it from its official website. Baleno was the last diesel variant car by Maruti Suzuki. With the emission norms to meet it seems, that with the discontinuation there is less chances of seeing the BS-6 Baleno (Diesel) in market in the days to come.
Knowing about Baleno it is powered by Fiat’s 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine which offered 75 PS of power and 190 NM of torque paired with 5 speed manual transmissions. However, Maruti Suzuki Baleno is recently upgraded to two BS-6 compliant petrol engines. The Baleno is available in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants. The Smart Hybrid system is available in Delta and Zeta variants. Overall features includes 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Smartplay Studio App with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, LED projector headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, dual airbags, ABS+EBD, seatbelts with pretensioner and force limiters, and ISOFIX mounts. It goes up against the Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Altroz and the Honda Jazz.
The actually reason behind the dis-continual of this subcompact car is still to be unveiled. With discontinuation will it also be removed from Nepal? or Maruti Suzuki has a new plans besides Baleno (Diesel) ? Stay tuned to know more.
