Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 launched in India
Xiaomi, a Chinese OEM, has launched their highly anticipated mid-tier smartphone- the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 in India. The phone is the successor to the popular Redmi Note 4. The phone has a lot to offer and brings tons of improvement over its predecessor. With a starting price of INR Rs 9,999, here is everything the phone has to offer.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 packs a 5.99 inch Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 403PPI. The phone comes encased in a metallic shell which looks and feels premium. Under the hood, the Note 5 packs an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor along with the Adreno 506 GPU. The processor is backed by 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage. The internal memory can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB. The phone also supports dual sim-cards but only at the expense of the memory card slot.
In the camera department, the Redmi Note 5 packs a f/2.2 12MP rear camera along with a dual-tone LED flash. The phone also has a f/2.0 5MP front camera for all your selfies. The Note 5 also comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded into its back panel. Other sensors include an accelerometer, compass, proximity sensor and a gyroscope. Software-wise, the phone runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Xiaomi’s own custom skin, MIUI 9, overlaid on top of it. And finally, powering this device all up is a large 4000mAh non-user removable battery. This will be enough to get users a full day worth of battery life without any issues.
